Senior Software Engineer
Microsaic is a small world leading manufacturer providing cutting edge instrumentation to the biopharmaceutical industry.
The company manufactures specialist instrumentation currently based around a standard PC board running the Linux operating system with the addition of custom hardware. We have a small software team which provides software to both control the instrument functions and display/analyse the data retrieved. Our current software is written in Java/Java Swing with control functions provided via C Linux drivers.
We require a senior software engineer to support the current software and provide expertise for the re-design of our hardware/software implementation. Our core code will be moved to a custom embedded system environment so expertise in this area is a must. You will be expected to liaise with hardware designers during the development process.
Additional work will involve debugging the existing software, adding extensions to the toolset and other additions as required by our customers and in-house experts. Fast turn-around, proof of concept coding is sometimes required. You will be able to interpret user requirements, document, design a solution and code.
This position will progress to a software team lead post.
UK residency is a must.
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualified in Computer Science or Electronics. Proven track record more important than qualifications.
- Expert with track record of writing code for an embedded environment in C/C++.
- Java (preferably with Java swing)
- Knowledge of electronics systems and in particular with creating drivers from hardware data sheets.
- Experience of NetBeans or similar IDE
- Object Oriented Design
- Ability to work on own initiative

- Knowledge of Chemistry
- Mathematics and algorithm implementation
- Web based UI design (Java Script)
- Team lead experience
Salary: Negotiable, dependant on experience
Location: Woking, Surrey
