Hybrid- Home, or Office based (Woking, UK)  – with some international travel

Purpose

  • Reporting to the Commercial Director the purpose of this role is to drive the sales process for Microsaic Instrumentation and Analytical Services to contribute to the growth of the company.
  • This is a critical commercial role with ownership of the end-to-end sales process to attract and on-board new clients, and for driving plans on how to undertake demand generation.

  • Develop and support product sales/market share growth in line with company goals and objectives.
  • As a key Account Manager, maintain contact with the Microsaic’s customers and potential customers through agreed sales processes, and maintain records in the CRM system.
  • To acquire necessary Microsaic product knowledge and understanding of Microsaic internal procedures and policy in consultation with the Commercial Director and CTO, and to present the correct information in a business-like and professional manner in sales activities.
  • Identify and highlight opportunities for System Sales and Analytical Services for customers and prospects, coming from different channels including; food industry, bioprocessing, analytical sciences, academic, start-ups, incubators, CRO’s, through a variety of methods.
  • Leads planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies based on company goals and objectives, for the roles business areas.
  • To translate those opportunities into sales, leveraging internal/external capabilities for applications in Mass Detection.
  • Keep up to date with any new scientific developments which may impact Microsaic’s portfolio by reading scientific literature, visiting incubators and attending conferences.
  • Work closely with Microsaic operational management to evaluate customer scope and supply quotations.
  • To support the Commercial Director in the pursuit of new sales opportunities.
  • To report on a regular basis to the Commercial Director on market trends, competitor activities and matters affecting company products and policy.
  • To ensure that all relevant quality systems are developed, implemented and adhered to.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety regulations and Microsaic Policies are adhered to.
  • Support the business by representing Microsaic at meetings and conferences
  • To undertake local and international travel as required (indicatively 30%).
  • Regular contact time required with team in Woking, UK

Key Requirements \ Experience

  • Educated to Degree level in related Science or Business discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of experience of key account management, sales development, revenue growth, partner engagement.
  • Experience in managing multi-channel customer communications and adept and identifying / deploying new future-focused format communication opportunities
  • Experience selling Analytical Instrumentation and services into scientific and life science sectors
  • Ability to recognise new product potential
  • Maximise sales through current and new customers
  • Enterprising and commercially astute candidate who works best when work is related closely to results and comfortable working autonomously.
