As a growing business, we are looking to recruit a customer focused Trainee Service Engineer responsible for the service, repair, general maintenance and training of our miniature Mass Spectrometer product at customer sites. You will receive full product training and support from senior management as you develop your knowledge and skills. Initially, you will be based in the Final test laboratory learning about the product and troubleshooting techniques. You will be needed to travel nationwide and abroad; sometimes at short notice
After your initial training, your field duties will include:-
Instrument Installation & training including
- Basic operator training
- User maintenance
- Use of software
- Call-qualification which customers
- Breakdown callouts
- Preventative Service Visits
- Phone support to customers and colleagues
- OEM training & Support
- In-House repair
- Support to final test when needed
- Other reasonable tasks/duties from time to time
To be considered for this post you should have previous experience either as a laboratory technician or scientist with experience of using Liquid Chromatography (‘LC’), and mass spectrometry systems. Ideally you will be educated with an HNC, HND or BSc in a life science discipline, have a full clean driving license and a valid passport. You should be able to communicate effectively at all levels with external customers and internal departments.
